Artificial UV exposures of volunteers needed to be translated to real-life sun exposures to assess adequate exposures for vitamin D. Simple translation to sun exposure of a horizontal flat surface is easy, but that does not represent common sun exposure of people. Therefore, Drs. Webb and Rhodes and coworkers constructed a 3D dynamic model in which a person moves around upright in the midday summer sun in Manchester, turning all sides of the body randomly to all cardinal directions. Thus, they found that exposures of half an hour 3 per week should be sufficient
