Bob Stripling is program director for the graduate certifi cate in local government management at Virginia Tech's Center for Public Administration and Policy. He has more than 30 years of experience in local government management. He served as city manager in four communities, holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Virginia, and was named the Public Administrator of the Year in Virginia by the American Society for Public Administration in 1986.
