Trevor Stack holds a B.A. in History and a Masters in Social Anthropology from Oxford University, as well as a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania. He has taught Anthropology at the University of St Andrews and now teaches in the Hispanic Studies department at the, where he is also Director of the Centre for Citizenship, Civil Society and Rule of Law. He has been doing fieldwork in Mexico since 1992 and, since 2008, in northern California. He is preparing a multi-authored publication provisionally entitled ‘Modern Government, Sovereignty and the Category of Religion’.
