We wish to report further details about the materials and methods for the article “A New Method for In Vivo Analysis of Parathyroid Hormone-Calcium Set Point in Mice” by Y. Imanishi, C. Hall, M. Sablosky, E.M. Brown, and A. Arnold published in J Bone Miner Res 2002:17:1656–1661.

Sterile injectable 10% calcium gluconate (4.65 mEq calcium/10 mL vial, American Regent Laboratories INC., Shirley, NY, USA) was diluted with sterile saline to concentrations of 75, 150, and 300 μmol/kg body weight. EGTA (catalog #E 0396, Sigma-Aldrich, St. Louis, MO, USA) was dissolved in sterile water to a stock concentration of 280 mM and adjusted to pH 7.4 using NaOH. It was then diluted using sterile saline to concentrations of 75, 150, 300, 450, and 500 μmol/kg body weight.
