Abstract
After study of the literature and other available information, theAmerican Cancer Society has found no evidence that “psychic surgery” results in objective benefit in the treatment of any medical condition.Lacking such evidence, the American Cancer Society strongly urgesindividuals who are ill not to seek treatment by psychic surgery. Thefollowing is a review and summary of material on “psychic surgery” in theAmerican Cancer Society files as of May 31, 1989. Reference to thatmaterial by the Society does not imply agreement with its contents.
