Carbothermal reduction of biosourced precursors combining sodium silicate by lignin at 1400 °C allows the emulsion-based generation of macrocellular Bio-SIC/C(HIPE) composite foams bearing unprecedented heat transport properties. These unprecedented heat transport performances are attributed to cooperative effect between radiative heat transfer and the presence of partially graphitized carbon.
