The complete Cr–Ni–Re system is investigated using combinatorial fabrication combined with high-throughput characterization techniques in order to establish its thin film phase diagram at 1100 °C. Results show that the obtained phase diagram is well comparable to the bulk phase diagram and that the combinatorial thin film phase diagram approach is promising for systems with expensive or high melting point constituents.
