The behaviors of Ni–Mn–Ga under complete and incomplete magneto-mechanical loading/unloading cycles are studied. For elastic interruptions during loading/unloading, strain hardening is seen. If inelastic response is induced due to partial loading/unloading, return point memory effect appears during the subsequent unloading/loading.
