As-cast and annealed P3HT/PCBM layers with different blend compositions are characterized by a number of techniques, including electron tomography and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The 3D morphological information, that is, the distribution of crystalline poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) nanowires thoughout the P3HT/[6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) film, is correlated with the performance of corresponding polymer solar cells.
