The affect of variation in fabrication process on the mechanism of conductivity and dielectric response of carbon-nanotube-dispersed composites within a PDMS matrix is studied. Ultrasonication, shear mixing, and use of surfactants are compared. The fabrication and performance of a stretchable conductor that can be reversibly stretched by over 100% is demonstrated, and other key applications are discussed.
