Confined ferroelectric properties are observed in a series of poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-chlorotrifluoroethylene)-graft-polystyrene graft copolymers [P(VDF-CTFE)-g-PS]. Both high energy density and low dielectric/ferroelectric losses are achieved simultaneously for a hot-pressed P(VDF-CTFE)-g-PS graft copolymer film with 34 wt-% PS. This is attributed to a low polarizability PS-rich layer at the amorphous–crystalline interface, confining the ferroelectric PVDF crystal.
