A new dicyanodistyrylbenzene-based liquid-crystalline material [(2Z,2'Z)-2,2’-(1,4-phenylene)bis(3-(3,4,5-tris(dodecyloxy)phenyl)acrylonitrile) (GDCS)] shows intense green/yellow fluorescence in liquid/solid crystal state. The aggregation-induced enhanced emission and two-color luminescence behaviors are promoted by intra- and intermolecular actions, which are caused by the dipolar cyanostilbene unit. The aligned microwires of GDCS are fabricated by micromolding in capillaries for enhanced electrical conductivity.
