Amorphous MnOx-carbon nanoparticles as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries are synthesized via aerosol spray pyrolysis. The resulting MnOx-carbon anode shows high lithium storage capacity, superior cycling stability, rate capability, and lower overpotential owing to its amorphous nature and unique nanostructure of interdispersed MnOx and carbon.
