Nanolaminates with alternating layers of Cu50Zr50 metallic glasses (MG) and polyisoprene are synthesized and nanolaminate-containing nanopillars are fabricated. Compared with monolithic metallic glasses and MG-metal nanolaminates, these novel materials exhibit >30% enhancement in deformability without sacrifice in strength, with a concurrent suppressed stochastic signature.
