A solution-processible barium hydroxide interlayer is used in between ZnO and (9,9′-dioctylfluorene)-co- benzothiadiazole (F8BT) in highly efficient inverted hybrid light-emitting-diode structures. With the aid of an index matched hemispherical lens, luminance and power efficiency reach up to 47 cd A−1 and 15 lm W−1, respectively, for a polymer film thickness of ≈1.2 μm.
