Domain walls (DWs) in highly insulating, millimeter thick lithium niobate (LiNbO3) single crystals show a pronounced electric conductivity when being illuminated by super-bandgap light. This conductivity can be tuned by engineering the tilting angle of the DWs with respect to the polar axis. The results are obtained using conductive atomic force microscopy and macroscopic transport measurements at various temperatures.
