Three types of layered α-Co(OH)2 nanocones with intercalated anions of dodecyl sulfate, benzoate, and nitrate, corresponding to interlayer spacings of 1.6, 0.7, and 0.09 nm, respectively, are prepared and used as model materials to investigate the effect of interlayer space on the electrochemical activity in the system of α-Co(OH)2 nanocone-based pseudocapacitors.
