The combination of passive-targeting nanovectors with sustained release could maximize efficacy of metronomic cancer treatments. This article demonstrates, as a proof of concept, constant and sustained release of ultra-stable drug-loaded liposomes from an implantable nanochannel delivery system over 18 d. Further, liposome intravasation from subcutaneous delivery is investigated and their biological activity post-nanochannel release on BT474 breast cancer cells is verified.
