Constructing nanoscroll-buffered hybrid nanostructures composed of nanoscrolls, nanobelts, and nanowires is demonstrated to be a facile and effective strategy to enhance lithium battery performance. As shown by Liqiang Mai and co-workers on page 2969, the nanoscrollbuffered effect could promptly accommodate the volumetric changes during cycles, and the interconnected voids offer more ion diffusion pathways, which results in excellent cyclability and rate capability.
