Second harmonic generation and two-photon photoluminescence are investigated experimentally and theoretically for quantum dots near metallic nanoparticles in the presence of an auxiliary control field. It is found that an enhancement of the second harmonic signal can be switched on and off by the changing the intensity or frequency of the control field. The present findings can be used to fabricate all-optical nanoswitching devices.
