A superior CO2 uptake capacity of up to 4.4 mmol g−1 is exhibited at ambient temperature and pressure by zeolite-templated, high-surface-area, microporous N-doped carbon, along with an initial CO2 adsorption energy of 36 kJ mol−1 at lower coverage and 20 kJ mol−1 at higher coverage.
