The thermoelectric performance of ternary bismuth-telluride-based films is significantly improved by annealing experiments in He and Te ambience. The material is fabricated using the potentiostatical millisecond-pulsed electrodeposition method from aqueous electrolytes. Annealing in He ambience leads to a decrease of the defect-density and further improvements, e.g., in the chemical composition, are achieved using the tellurium annealing method.
