UV-visible light irradiation of a low-band-gap polycarbazole derivative (PCDTBT) provokes modifications of the chemical structure, with formation of low molecular weight photoproducts. These reactions are responsible for the evolution of the morphology and the nanomechanical properties of the material. Dots observed by AFM reveal the π-stacking of the carbazole units, which originates from scissions of C[BOND]N bonds of PCDTBT.
