Cu-In hydrazinium precursors are redissolved into benign non-hydrazine solvents, for example ethanolamine and dimethyl sulfoxide, with a tunable amount of extra chalcogen. Optimized devices exhibit power conversion efficiencies comparable to those of N2H4-based devices of similar thickness. The device fabrication process may also be extended to other semiconductor optoelectronic device, e.g., CZTS.
