Ullazine-based sensitizers are reported for the first time in solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells using the amorphous organic semiconductor, spiro-MeOTAD as hole transport material. The influence of the donor group and the position of the anchoring group is thoroughly explored and correlated to the performance in working devices.
