Hexafluoropropylidene polybenzimidazole (F6PBI) polymer is synthesized and further covalently crosslinked with chloromethyl polysulfone. The crosslinked membranes exhibit excellent stability towards radical oxidation, high resistance to acid swelling and improved mechanical strength, allowing for higher acid doping levels, increased proton conductivity and significantly improved fuel cell performance and durability.
