Significantly increased power conversion efficiencies (up to η = 7.50%) of polymer solar cells (PSCs) was achieved through plasmonic enhanced light trapping by doping both the rear and front charge selecting interfacial layers of the device with different sized Au NPs. The strategy presented in this work provides a simple and generally applicable way to enhance light harnessing in PSCs.
