Inverted hybrid solar cells with high power conversion efficiency are fabricated from an aqueous poly(1,4-naphthalene vinylene) (PNV) precursor and CdTe nanocrystals (NCs). TiO2 and MoO3 are selected as the electron transport layer and hole transport layer, respectively, resulting in efficiencies that are comparable to those achieved with hybrid solar cells based on organic solvents.
