A dye-doped rubbery matrix of poly-butylacrilate is used to fabricate an efficient photon up-converting material by bulk polymerization. Thanks to the residual molecular diffusion within the host and to the reduction of the vibrational quenching of involved metastable electronic states, a record conversion yield of 17% in the solid state is obtained within a single phase elastomer.
