The photophysics of bulk heterojunctions of a low-gap silicon-bridged dithiophene polymer with oleic acid capped PbS quantum dots (QDs) is studied. By employing a wide range of nanocrystal sizes, systematic trends of electron and hole transfer on QD size are established. This study indicates that programmable band offsets allowing electron and hole extraction can be produced based on the hybrid composite.
