A solution-processed silver nanowire/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) electrode is developed for use in solid-state dye sensitized solar cells (ssDSCs). The electrode shows greater than 92% peak transmittance along with sheet resistances below 20 Ω/square. Application of the electrode results in 3.6% efficient semitransparent D35-sensitized ssDSCs, a promising development for ssDSC applications in tandem and building-integrated photovoltaic devices.
