The addition of a Mn promoter to a Co3O4/TiO2 catalyst can be selectively (by strong electrostatic adsorption) or randomly (by dry impregnation) introduced to the Co3O4. Although restructuring during reduction treatments lead to a similar final state placement of the Mn, its interaction with Co could still be quite different and influence the performance of the catalyst.
