MIO my! Both enantiomers of nitrophenylalanines were prepared by enantioselective synthesis catalyzed by wild type phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL). The interaction between the same substrates and 4-methylideneimidazole-5-one (MIO)-less PAL was also investigated.
