Fully recovered: A homogeneous polyoxometallate catalyst can be recovered quantitatively from an alkene epoxidation product mixture by nanofiltration through a mesoporous ceramic membrane (see picture). In a series of six cycles of reaction and separation, the catalyst retention was nearly quantitative and no loss of catalytic activity was observed.
