Let's play with FRET: Cyclam-capped polymer nanoparticles, containing diphenylanthracene (donor, D) and pyrromethene PM 567 (acceptor, A), display efficient sensitized emission of A by FRET (Förster resonance energy transfer) from D upon excitation of D. On addition of cupric ions, the emission of A is in turn quenched by FRET much more efficiently than the donor emission.
