Hydrogen storage solution? Through a combination of experimental results and density functional theory, K-Si-H silanide has been identified as a material for reversible H2 storage under mild (T, P) conditions. For the first time, the crystallographic structure and the unusual thermodynamic properties of the α-KSiH3 phase (see figure) are shown.
