Among women age ≥ 50 years, self-reported methods of breast cancer detection by mammography, self detection, and clinical breast examination varied according to breast carcinoma histopathology. In addition, for some histologic types of breast carcinoma, the pattern varied further by body mass index and postmenopausal hormone use.
