The authors performed 1000 treatments of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) to 2140 hepatocellular carcinoma nodules in 664 patients with a cooled-tip electrode. RFA was feasible in all cases with a major complication rate of 4.0% per treatment and a 5-year survival rate of 54.3% among 319 naive patients.
