Given the limited data available on the burden of colorectal cancer in Puerto Rico and how those data compare with the burden in other racial/ethnic groups in the United States, the authors investigated the age-standardized incidence and mortality rates of colorectal cancer in Puerto Rico and compared them with the rates among Hispanics, non-Hispanic whites, and non-Hispanic blacks in the United States for the period from 1998 to 2002.
