For patients with high-risk, extremity soft tissue sarcoma, the significant survival benefits conferred by an intense regimen of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and surgery are sustained even with long-term follow-up, despite the fact that sarcoma-related deaths continue to occur well beyond 5 years.
