The outcome after relapse for children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in Central America was unknown. This study found that 22% of children survive event-free 3 years after relapse, and conclude that treatment of relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia may lead to prolonged survival, even in resource-limited settings without access to stem cell transplantation.
