Article first published online: 11 DEC 2012 | DOI: 10.1002/cncr.27866
18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) has greater diagnostic accuracy in the detection of recurrent bone or soft tissue sarcoma compared with contrast-enhanced spiral CT alone. The detection of local recurrence is the most evident advantage of 18F-FDG PET/CT over contrast-enhanced spiral CT.
