Doubly confined: Steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy is applied to determine the effect of cyclodextrin in the double confinement of coumarin C522 in a host–guest supramolecular complex with β-cyclodextrin in a reverse sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate (AOT) micelle. Ultrafast dynamic studies provide average lifetimes of 12 and 7 ps for the small and large micelles, respectively.
