Cleanup chemistry: A facile synthetic strategy for the preparation of branched SnO2/α-Fe2O3 hierarchical nanoheterostructures is developed. The prepared materials exhibit superior visible-light photocatalysis, which is ascribed to the effective electron–hole pair separation at the SnO2/α-Fe2O3 hierarchical nanoheterostructure interfaces (see figure).
