Support group: Direct selective hydrogenation of phenol to cyclohexanone was achieved over a polyaniline (PANI)-functionalized carbon-nanotube (CNT)-supported palladium catalyst under atmospheric hydrogen pressure in aqueous media (see scheme). The results indicate that the phenol conversion is related to the conductive property of composite material PANI/CNT, whereas the cyclohexanone selectivity is attributed to the nitrogen-containing nature of PANI/CNT.
