Be supportive: Iron nanopaticles supported on a chemically derived graphene oxide support was an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for the oxidative cyanation of tertiary amines to the corresponding α-aminonitriles (see scheme). The chemically derived graphene oxide support also played an important role in promoting the reaction compared with its nonsupported analogue. The catalyst was readily recovered by the effect of an external magnet and was reused for several runs with consistent catalytic efficiency.
