Sound effects: A supramolecular nanofiber, composed of an anthracene derivative having benzamide substituents bearing long chiral alkyl chains, aligns in solution upon exposure to an audible sound wave with frequency up to 1000 Hz (see figure). When classical music is playing, the nanofiber aligns in harmony with the sound.
