Free ASA bird: The stabilities of amorphous silica–aluminas (ASAs) synthesized by using different preparation methods are compared in hot liquid water at 200 °C. ASAs prepared by cogelation lose their microporous structure owing to hydrolysis of the siloxane bonds. The transformation of ASAs prepared by deposition precipitation is limited because of the formation of protective boehmite clusters.
