Bubbling catwalks: The hydrogenase model [Fe2(μ-bdt)(CO)6] (bdt=S2C6H4), owing to its comparatively low reduction potential, is a robust molecular catalyst for visible-light-driven production of hydrogen in aqueous sodium dodecyl sulfate solution at pH 10.5, achieving turnover-number values of up to 117 when used in combination with Eosin Y as a sensitizer and triethylamine as an electron donor.
