Ethylene goes with the flow: A tube-in-tube reactor ensures high efficiency of olefin metathesis catalysts under continuous flow mode as a result of the effective removal of ethylene from the reaction mixture. This approach is most beneficial in reactions performed at low concentration, such as macrocyclization reactions. This system allows achievement of both improved yield and selectivity, and is ideal for industrial applications.
